It sometimes makes me wonder who we elected.

In light of the blatant hypocrisy on the Left and among the RINO's in the GOP, I will not complain about Mr. Bennett's comments.

Mali D. Not one person at the Conference in 1997 nor since that Conference has even questioned (based on their criticisms of conservatives) his contribution to Global warming in those 72 hours of travel.

"The most vulnerable part of the Earth's environment is the very thin layer of air clinging near to the surface of the planet, that we are now so carelessly filling with gaseous wastes that we are actually altering the relationship between the Earth and the Sun - by trapping more solar radiation under this growing blanket of pollution that envelops the entire world," Gore told the conference.
Examples such as these should add to the volume of evidence that it is not necessary to believe Left-Wing Liberals when they say that they are concerned for the environment. Their concern is only they we, the masses, conserve our energy and restrain our lives in a manner that creates resiviors of energy and acres of exclusive land for their enjoyment. Beware of any person who tries to convince you that their is any real danger in the global warming. Remember when the Left-Wing Liberal danger was "Global Cooling"?

Mali D. Casey Sheehan knew when he VOLUNTARILY REENLISTED what the dangers of his CHOSEN profession were. Casey Sheehan's mother meets with President Bush and praises the President for his honesty, sensitivity and sincerity of his prosecuting the war on terrorism "in Iraq" even though she had misgivings about the war. Casey Sheehan's mother later lies about the facts of her meeting with President Bush so as to gain a support base composed of Left-Wing Liberals who Hate President Bush.

Casey Sheehan's mother has lost the support of her family and her husband Patrick Sheehan filed a divorce petition on this past Friday in Solano County California.

Casey Sheehan's mother deserves no serious attention from President Bush. I was bothered when President Bush even mentioned her during a press conference on his ranch. Casey Sheehan's mother has decided to align herself politically with Left-Wing Liberals who hate President Bush. These "Bush Haters" are the same losers who have lost every single election cycle since 1994. Their anti-war rhetoric hasn't worked with all of their legions of mental slaves and their millions of dollars. Casey Sheehan's mother will certainly not be more successful than they were. Casey Sheehan's mother is only deserving of the same public criticism as those with whom she depends on for aid and comfort. Casey Sheehan's mother deserves to be ignored by any person with whom she wants to convince of her plight. Casey Sheehan's mother "Has no Plight."

Army Specialist Casey Sheehan is a hero. He should be hailed as such along with all servicemen for their willingness to make their bodies a living sacrifice for the protection of the freedom and liberty we United States Citizens enjoy today.

I am saddened to know that Casey Sheehan's mother is so mentally handicapped by the successful Left-Wing Liberal takeover of her emotions. Casey Sheehan's mother is currently engaged in a meaningless anti-war rant outside President Bush's ranch in Crawford Texas. The presence of Casey Sheehan's mother has no effect on public policy. The presence of Casey Sheehan's mother only gives another outlet to Left-Wing Liberals who want to continue to try and attack and embarrass President Bush.

Casey Sheehan's mother was recently quoted as saying that she will NOT pay her taxes for 2004. She beleives that her son's death should satisfy the IRS debt. It has also been learned that Casey Sheehan's mother tried to convince Casey to allow her to drive him north of tthe U.S. border to Canada. Both of these acts are felonies under U.S. federal law. I wonder if she will EVER be prosecuted. If she is not, there will be a backlash against the Republican Majority rarely seen in Politics.

Mali D. They all have seemed to bypass in-depth coverage of relevant issues of the day.

The Fox News Channel (Unfortunately my stalwart news outlet) is "freebasing" every little bit of information that even simulates news. Leading that pack is the the chief "basehead", Greta Van Sustren.

The crack cocaine of journalism (if it bleeds, it leads) has also gripped the programming of MSNBC and CNN. CNN seems to be torn between their crack addiction to their heroine addiction of covering any person, group, and/or event that is even the least bit critical of President Bush. Aaron Brown will drop his crack pipe filled with Nancy Hollaway in a New York minute in favor of a syringe full of "Bush lied, People died". MSNBC's Kieth Olberman, Joe Scarborough, and Chris Matthews seem to be pill-poppin' just about any scandal they can find in order to be even relevant in the ratings race. Donny Deutsch on CNBC seems to take the ecxtasy approach - get people together to smoke as a group. Donny always seems to have a collection of fellow Left-Wing Liberals who enjoy giggling about successful a terrorist act was in Iraq.

Unfortunately, these newsroom addictions suffocate precious reporting resources that should focus on issues such as the Air America Scandal where these left-wing liberal extremists embezzled nearly $900,000 from a girls and boys club to finance their radio network's launch.
I have subsidized my viewership by reading and crossreferencing more blogs and research work of websites that I trust in order to get the information that is relevant to my life. It is very sad that what we wanted to avoid in our local news, we are bombarded with by our 24 hour Cable News Networks. My recommendation is that Cable News Networks should find a "program" and kick the journalistic drug habit or risk losing loyal viewers permanently.

Mali D. On August 6, 1965 the bedrock legislation was signed into law. One of the most well known Civil Rights activists from that period in history is John Lewis. I am writing this because his name, profile and comments continue to be reported without the important political context that it deserves. Currently, John Lewis is a Congressman from the 5th district of the state of Georgia. At that time Lewis served as Chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).

According to an article in Sojourners Magazine, "Few in the U.S. Congress have the moral stature of Rep. John Lewis. He earned it the hard way. Lewis was beaten, perhaps more often than any other human being in the civil-rights movement. He was jailed more than 40 times. He was heckled, spat upon, and threatened more times than he can count. Yet through it all, Lewis and the movement prevailed—at the lunch counters in Nashville in 1960, on the burned-out buses of the Freedom Rides in 1961, at the 1965 march in Selma."
"On March 7, 1965, Lewis and Hosea Williams led about 500 marchers across the Edmund Pettus Bridge and were savagely beaten by Sheriff Jim Clark and the Alabama State Police. That day became to be known as "Bloody Sunday". That march and its aftermath outraged the nation and led directly to the passage later that summer of the Voting Rights Act.

Now this picture to the right is of the Alabama State Police attacking protesters in as they crossed the Edmund Pettis Bridge in Selma. Highlighted in the lower right corner of the photo, is the young John Lewis getting his brains splattered by an Alabama State Police Officer. During that time, ALL Alabama State Police Officers were Democrats. This attack by the police was lead by the racist, segregationist, Democrat powerbroker, Sheriff Jim Clark of Dallas County, Alabama.

Now this racist, segregationist Sheriff Clark was a registered Democrat. Today, Congressman John Lewis is a Democrat. Congressman Lewis is a boisterous Left-Wing Liberal who regularly blames Republicans for the violence and racism he endured as a protester against DEMOCRATS in the 1960's.

(The photo below is of Democrat Sheriff Jim Clark billy clubbing a handcuffed black female civil rights protestor as she is being held by 2 of his deputies. Sheriff clark never apologized for this. Congressman Lewis treats Republicans who helped he Civil Rights movement they way he should have treated this animal).

To date Congressman Lewis has not demanded that the Democratic Party admit responsibility for crimes and/or discriminations against Blacks. In a twist of irony, while Lewis was getting his head beaten by Democrats, Republicans led the Congress in the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 as well as all other major Civil Rights laws in the history of this Country.

Congressman Lewis in many interviews has stated his forgiveness of those unrepentant segregationists who heckled him, spat on him, beat him, and threaten him and his family, while viscously attacking Republicans as if they [the Republicans] were the perpetrators of hate, violence, and slavery in this nation.

Mali D. He rarely missed an opportunity to criticize Republicans while virtually ignoring the misgivings of his fellow left-wing liberals such as Former CBS News Anchor Dan Rather. After 20 years as Anchor of ABC Nightly News, his audience is neither informed nor prepared to intelligently respond to the free-flow of information that exists today.

Jenning's sarcastic remarks during the death of Former President, Ronald Wilson Reagan were petty and typical of the infectious liberalism in the Mainstream Media. Here is a sample:

• 9:13am PDT/12:13pm EDT: Just as hearse arrived at Point Mugu, Peter Jennings asserted: “It is an appropriate time I think to talk somewhat about the, the differences of opinion that were so strong in the country at the time, and as you alluded a little bit this morning, and we haven’t seen many African-American faces up at the presidential library or this morning, that the black community particularly in America has less time for the President than other constituencies.”

• 7:18pm EDT/4:18pm PDT: As the casket-bearers were in the middle of the second leg of carrying the casket up the steps of West front of the Capitol, and as a military band played the “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” the camera zoomed in on a homemade poster: “God Speed Mr. Reagan.”

• Jennings decided it was a good time to point out: “There is so much to say about Ronald Reagan today and so much to talk about. 'God speed’ indeed. We’ve talked about his optimism and his modesty, his equanimity and his persistence. Not talked a lot yet about his relationship to African-Americans. Not heard much on this particular day -- seems appropriate -- from his critics.” So if it’s not appropriate at that time, why did Jennings bring it up?

• On Thursday’s Good Morning America, Jennings delivered a liberal cliche as he asserted that at the end of Reagan’s presidency “a great many people thought he'd made the wealthy wealthier and had not improved life particularly for the middle class, and there were just occasional intrusions yesterday of the divisiveness which was evident during his presidency, particularly in the African-American community, which felt that Ronald Reagan had not given it their due."

• "Some thoughts on those angry voters. Ask parents of any two-year-old and they can tell you about those temper tantrums: the stomping feet, the rolling eyes, the screaming. It's clear that the anger controls the child and not the other way around. It's the job of the parent to teach the child to control the anger and channel it in a positive way. Imagine a nation full of uncontrolled two-year-old rage. During the Debate, I surmised that all 9 Justices of the United States Supreme Court began serving because of the leadership of Republicans - not Democrats.

7 of the 9 Justices were appointed by Republican Presidents and 2 of the 9 were approved by Republican controlled U.S. Senates - 9 out of 9.

It is very upsetting to note this material fact. Left Wing Liberals cannot be blamed for the problems that emanate from the Supreme Court. We, the Republicans are to blame. We turn a blind eye to the "moderation" in our midst. It is that "moderation" that is destroying us.

So when WE Republicans begin to complain about the liberal activism that exists on the U.S. Supreme Court, then we must question our JUDGEMENT in who we elect for public office.

Mali D. California Senator Barbara 07/06/05

1. February 26, 1993 - First World Trade Center Bombing
The first bombing at the World Trade Center took place on February 26, 1993, when a minibus containing 1,100 pounds of explosives detonated in the garage beneath the complex. The blast killed six people, injured 1,000, and caused $300 million worth of damage.

2. September 13, 1995 - A rocket-propelled grenade pierces the wall of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, but causes no injuries.

3. November 13, 1995 - Car bomb, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 7 dead including 5 Americans.

4. January 1995 - Planned Explosion of Pacific Airliners
When a bomb exploded accidentally in a Manila apartment in January 1995, police uncovered a major terrorist plot. Associates of Osama bin Laden had planned to blow up 12 planes as they flew from Southeast Asia to the United States, crash another aircraft into CIA headquarters, and kill the pope. The FBI, working with the Philippine government, was able to determine that Ramzi Yousef was involved in this attack, as was Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the eventual mastermind of the September 11, 2001, attacks.

5. June 25, 1996- Khobar Towers
Nineteen U.S. servicemen were killed and 500 people were injured on June 25, 1996, when explosives packed onto a truck exploded outside the Khobar Towers , a military housing complex in the city of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia . Those responsible left the truck shortly before it blew up. Saudi Arabia later arrested a number of suspects, but refused to allow the FBI to interview them.

6. August 7 ,1998 - U.S. Embassy Attack in Salaam, Tanzania
7. August 7 ,1998 - U.S. Embassy Attack in Nairobi, Kenya ,
Four men, believed to be followers of Osama bin Laden, were convicted on May 29, 2001, for their roles in the bombing of American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998. The blasts killed 224 people, including 12 Americans. Some 5,000 people were injured.

Mohamed Rashed Daoud al-'Owhali, Khalfan Khamis Mohamed, Wadih al-Hage, and Mohamed Sadeek Odeh are believed to be connected with bin Laden's terrorist organization, al-Qaeda ("The Base"). Another six defendants are in custody, while at least 15 more, including bin Laden, remain at large. 13 suspects in this case, including Osama bin Laden, were placed on the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorists list on Oct. 10, 2001.

8. December 1999 - Millennium Terror Plot
In December 1999, authorities arrested an Algerian trying to enter the U.S. from Canada and foiled a plot to detonate a bomb at Los Angeles International Airport in the days before January 1, 2000. Three Algerians—Ahmed Ressam, Abdel Ghani Meskini, and Mokhtar Haouari—were convicted in New York, on July 13, 2001.

Ressam told the court that he had been trained in a terrorist camp in Afghanistan run by Osama bin Laden. Participants were taught about blowing up a nation's infrastructure, rocket-launching, urban warfare, assassination, and sabotage. Experts say Islamic warriors from Central Asia, the Philippines, the Middle East, and China—all of which face incursions from Islamic militants—attended the conference.

9. October 12, 2000 - Bombing of the USS Cole
A suicide bomb attack killed 17 U.S. sailors and injured 39 when the USS Cole was docked in Aden, Yemen , on October 12, 2000. The blast occurred when a small boat came alongside the Cole and its occupants detonated a bomb. The attack blew a hole 40 feet by 40 feet in the hull, nearly sinking the 2100-ton guided missile destroyer.

In a recruitment video for his al-Qaeda organization that later circulated throughout the Middle East, Osama bin Laden appears to take credit for the attack. Meanwhile, Yemeni police have arrested about 30 people in connection with the attack. In June 2001, FBI and U.S. navy investigators left Yemen when police uncovered an apparent plot to blow up the U.S. embassy in Aden. Nine people were arrested.

For many years bin Laden stated motives. He said in an interview in 1999 , "The International Islamic Front for Jihad against the U.S. and Israel has issued a crystal-clear fatwa calling on the Islamic nation to carry on jihad aimed at liberating holy sites. The nation of Muhammad has responded to this appeal. If the instigation for jihad against the Jews and the Americans in order to liberate Al-Aksa Mosque and the Holy Ka'aba Islamic shrines in the Middle East is considered a crime, then let history be a witness that I am a criminal." (Sources: Infoplease.com, Wikipeida.com)

All of these terrorists acts happened before the War in Iraq. It's hard not to call Senator Boxer insane if she insists on telling people that terrorism is a result of the War in Iraq.

Mali D. While it is excellent at catching j-walkers, the license plate of speeders, the occasional pick-pocket, and lovers kissing, it was not able to notice terrorists planting explosives in its transportation systems.

As you know, al-Qaida (or Qaeda) terrorists managed to plant and detonate 4 bombs, within one hour. during the morning rush hour, murdering 37 working British citizens and injuring over 700 working British citizens. What a tragedy!

The city of London has about "eight-thousand closed-circuit TV cameras help officials track people throughout London...", with about "six-thousand cameras monitoring the Underground subway system." That makes London the most saturated city in the world with artificial urban surveillance.

Ironically, the surveillance system was built in order to thwart attacks by terrorists! However it seems that the system lacks capacity to notice violators of national security while it records the smallest detail of the law abiding.

Mali D. Because of this decision, all a government would have to do is use its eminent domain power to evict a homeowner and offer that property to a private interest that will pay a higher tax assessment.

Prop 13 limits the property tax assessment to 1% of its purchase price, forever, until the property is resold “voluntarily”. Anti-Prop 13 groups want to chang the law so that properties can be assessed at a higher amount in order to bring more tax revenues to the governemtn treasury. This decision empowers the governemnt to force the homeowner to sell the property (when the government wants the property sold) and entertain offers from new potenetial private owners who will purchase the property and pay a higher assessment tax to the government treasury.

Since the governemnt only has to declare that the public use is the increased tax revenue and not the actual public usage of the property bieng taken, they can legally sell that same house to a new buyer nd enjoy the increased flow of tax receipts from the new homeowners.

Anti-Prop 13 groups are going to realize this and suddenly there will be plans for mass population shifts of the less affluent around the state. Governments can plan for new residents in those old and stable houses that don’t flood or suffer earthquake damage. Governments can advertise their proposals to potenetal residenst who will pay the higher tax assessment in place of the increased commuter costs they have been paying since they moved to the suburbs.

Unfortunately the carnage does not end with the aformentioned. This decision has made government a Real Estate Broker and General Contractor. Once again since the public use is only increased tax revenues and the government is not restricted from selling that same house to a new potential homeowner, governents could also create their own listings and do their own remodeling. Before any reader dismisses this paragraph as pure speculation, first examine the level of involvement governments already have in the Real Estate Industry – Section 8 and HUD Housing.

Prop 13 Advocates had better be devising strategies to respond to this seismic shift in public policy!

Mali D. Four White Left-Wing Liberal Democrats and one White "moderate" Republican formed the all white, 5 person majority of the 5-4 decision of the so-called "conservative" high court to guarantee the opportunity of [mostly white] developers to collude with the government to force Blacks to sell their homes. Governments are now empowered to do redistribute accumulating wealth from hardworking Blacks to their White, Left-Wing liberal elite, benefactors.

The amount of accumulating wealth and income that Blacks would lose is extremely disproportionate and staggering because according to the 2000 U.S. Census, over 75% of Blacks live in urban areas while only about 33% of Whites live in urban areas. Also the most sought-after property for redevelopment over the last 15 years has been in these urban areas. Now remember, generally the largest asset that Blacks owned is their home. Developers have been reluctant to plan development in urban areas because the private cost of that land can be expensive and the time involved to secure it can be consuming. Governments have wanted to help developers in the past but have been limited to a strict interpretation of "public interest" (i.e. roads, bridges, stadiums, etc.) and were not been able to force private property owners to sell for the benefit of other private owners - not matter how much these governments wanted to do so.

Furthermore, Blacks would have to pay an increased assessment tax on the new home that they would have to buy which would neutralize President Bush's tax reform measures. If that home was part of their retirement plan, the forced sell would result in a reduction of anticipated (retiree controlled) retirement benefits that could be realized. This would neutralize President Bush's reform of Social Security. So it is a lose situation for the Black homeowners and a win for the government and private developers.

Readers please understand that the impact of this decision is as profound as the Plessy v. Ferguson decision in 1896 to establish the doctrine of "separate but equal". We cannot wait another 58 years for another Supreme Court to overturn this decision (as was done in Plessy with Brown v. Board of Education in 1954) nor should we wait 68 years for a "Property Rights Act" to be passed in order to further clarify and enforce another Constitutional Amendment (as was done with the 1964 Civil Rights Act). Conservatives have to be as outraged as those who organized to abolish slavery in the 1800's and as determined as those who managed the passage of our nation's Civil Rights Legislation in the 1900's. Left-Wing Liberal Judicial interference of Black humanity and prosperity must end now!

Mali D. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners".

Conservatives have been pounding Senator Durbin for his comments. Senator Durbin's remarks are definitely qualify him for the "thoughts of a stupid idiot" award. He is, unfortunately, flanked by many in the Democrat Party who agree with him with regard to the military.

I have been bothered by Conservatives who compare Senator Durbin's remarks to those of Senator Trent Lott (Rep-Miss). What Senator Lott said was not similar to what Senator Durbin said. Senator Lott said the following in December 2002 at a 100 year Birthday Bash for the late and former U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond (Rep-South Carolina):

"When Strom Thurman ran for President, we voted for him! We're proud of it! And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all of these problems over all of these years either."

As you can see, there is no real comparison between the two statements. Now take a look at the following quote:

"It has often been said that the man and the moment come together. I do not think it is an exaggeration at all to say to my friend from West Virginia that he would have been a great Senator at any moment. Some were right for the time. Robert C. Byrd, in my view, would have been right at any time. He would have been right at the founding of this country. He would have been in the leadership crafting this Constitution. He would have been right during the great conflict of civil war in this Nation. He would have been right at the great moments of international threat we faced in the 20th century. I cannot think of a single moment in this Nation's 220-plus year history where he would not have been a valuable asset to this country. Certainly today that is not any less true."

The above comments were made on April 17, 2004 following Senator Byrd's (Dem-West Va.) 17,000th vote as a member of the U.S. Senate. Senator. Chris Dodd (Dem-Conn) is the orator of those remarks about the former high ranking Klansman.

Now that is an apples to apples comparison!

The persistent Conservative protest has yielded an apology (albeit somewhat half hearted) from Durbin. Something that rarely happens from a Left-Wing Liberal. My wonder is why these same Conservatives didn't see the desire to be as angered by Dodd's diatribe as they were about Durbin's. These same Conservatives were livid at Durbin, but were only irritated at Dodd. These same Conservatives didn't call for the resignation of Dodd but they want Durbin's resignation forthwith.

I must admit that I have been somewhat desensitized by the systemic inability of leading Conservatives to confront Left-Wing Liberals on issues where Conservatives have the advantage to discuss race and racism. Senator Durbin is a hopeless partisian deserving of the his public scorn, but so was Senator Dodd.

Mali D. Times columnist Thomas Friedman sat, talked, and fielded comments and questions for 3 hours! Among the many issues he discussed, I was particularly disturbed by his assertions on gasonline production and use in the United States. He seems to believe that if the price of fuel were high enough (he used Europe as an example) that consumners would modify their demands and change their habits.

What he didn't say is that Europeans are driving no more of these idealistic automobiles that the elites criticize American car manufacturers for "not" making.

He cited the fact that Sweden's gas prices average $6 per gallon and they are an oil producing nation. He (I believe intentionally) neglected to tell the audience that about $4.62 of Sweden's $6 average price per gallon is taxes - not corporate profits! Similar research is in all of the Western European Nations.

Sweden is not driving hybrid or clean fuel burning cars in any noticeable manner, yet liberals like Thomas Friedman continually reference these nations as notable standards.

Friedman criticizes the bush Administration for advancing the legislation to drill in Alaska National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR). Friedman called it an "Environmental Cathedral". He then stressed the there should be more pressure on to "Drill in Detroit", meaning to force U.S. Automotive Companies to increase their Corporate Average Fuel Economy Standards (CAFE). By the way, Their is no pressure on Mercedes (the Germans), Toyota (the Japanese), or even Volvo (when it was owned by the Swedes) to increase their CAFE standards - just the U.S. car companies.

Remember, the goal of these hypocritical attacks on U.S. companies is to weaken U.S. success not increase safety

Note to Mr. Friedman:

The reason there is no "Drilling in Detroit" is because it is proven that increasing the fuel efficiency of automobiles does not translate into savings on fuel consumption.

Liberal elites such as yourself live fly gas guzzling planes, drive gas guzzling limousines, and live in energy guzzling homes. Gov. Michael Steele (R) debate the racist comments of Howard Dean when he stated the followning:

"You think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room? Only if they had the hotel staff in here."

No Democrat seems to be offended by the statement. When confronted, they all simply dismiss the seriousness of Dean just as they did with comments not long ago made by Connecticut Senator Christopher Dodd (D) and West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd (D) about Blacks. As a matter of fact, many of the same left-wing liberals who attacked Mississippi Senator Trent Lott (R) are agressively minimizing their comrades in the fight.

We Blacks who care about these verbal atrocities by Left-Wing Liberals must continue to escalate our rhetoric to force a civil debate on who is entitled to offend black people. This is necessary to both defang the issue and develop a standard by which people are excused for being stupid or get pounded for their resistance.

Mali D. She and I had a very pointed exchange regarding her venomous attacks on the Club for growth and specifically Pat Toomey. I promised her a complete and detailed rebutle to her column and it is listed below:

The Republican Party rules the White House, as well as a majority in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, which means the party is flying so high that only Republicans can muck it up.

In this first paragraph she is preparing us readers that she wants us to be in the mind of royalty as we read this article, along with a twist of her own bitterness of her Party's loss.

Enter the Club for Growth, a group of supply-side economists on a jihad to bury Republicans they don't deem to be pure enough. Given a choice between half a loaf and none, the club says: none.

So last week, the club's new president Rep. Pat Toomey , R-Pa., announced a campaign to send a "gentle message" to three Republicans -- Sen. Lincoln Chafee, R-R.I., Rep. Joe Schwarz, R-Mich., and Sherwood Boehlert, R-N.Y. -- by airing ads in their districts telling voters to urge their lawmaker to support private savings accounts as part of a Social Security reform package.

The fact that conservative Republicans want to get even their most liberal members to support President Bush seems to get debra seething. However doesn't seem to have a problem with Democrats actually targeting fellow Democrats who may want to support some of the Bush Administration's Policy.

Who cares if no one knows what will be in the Social Security reform package suggested by President Bush in concept but with no details? Not the club.

Yeah Debra, but no elected official in 1934 knew what the package was when Klan sympathizer, FDR "suggested" the original sweeping legislation. He went around the country gathering support just as President Bush is doing. Even when former segregationist, LBJ moved the dedicated accounts of the Social Security retirement system into the general accounts of the U.S. Budget in order to hide costs of the war, liberals today never even mention the aforementioned, much less condemn.

Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., who supports the concept of investment accounts, had the right approach when he told the Los Angeles Times that until a solid plan is in place, "you've got a lot of people debating empty boxes." Which makes the club, as self-appointed enforcer for the GOP, the enforcer of support for empty boxes.

On Friday, Toomey told Chris Matthews of MSNBC's "Hardball," "One of the things the Club for Growth does very well is that it sometimes instills some political courage where it is needed on Capitol Hill."

Debra, so when Moveon.org acts in a similar fashion are they considered "as self-appointed enforcer for the Democratic Party" or does their political affiliation exempt them from your extreme labeling.

Au contraire, only cowardice or stupidity could prompt a member to sign onto a reform package that doesn't exist.

As I said earlier, you could apply the same attitude to the 1934 congress, but I doubt that you will.

"I don't see any downside," said club Executive Director David Keating. The ads aren't "critical" of the three Repubs -- not as critical as past club campaigns, which really hammered wayward Repubs. This is a nice way of getting their attention and drawing them to the light.

No different than those left-wing organizations such as ACT and Moveon.org.

But what if the Bush plan isn't fiscally sound -- which is supposed to be important to the club? Does it then run ads taking back the old ads?

Rough transition Debra. You were arguing that it is cowardice and stupid to support a plan that doesn't exist, not one that does - fiscally sound or not. Your argument here lacks focus.

There's also a California Club for Growth. A Club for Growth in California, where John Kerry beat George W. Bush by 10 points and every statewide elected official is a Democrat -- except for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Next, they'll try to grow wheat in a sunless room.

This paragraph is simply an ad hominem attack, ripe with sarcasm.

Former Assemblyman Tony Strickland, who heads the California branch, said his group may well go after any Republican who votes for tax increases. "We will hold legislators accountable if they raises taxes," he explained.

You ignore the math, I countered, citing the need to win two-thirds of the votes in the Assembly and Senate, which are heavily Democratic. No, Strickland responded, the last three budgets had no broad tax increase -- even when there was a Democratic governor. True, I note, but those were not balanced budgets, they were borrow-big budgets.

Finally, some hard hitting, relevant analysis. Raising taxes and extreme borrowing is harsh on short and long-term growth in any economy.

"Here's what frustrates me," said state GOP Vice Chairman Jim Hartman. "I actually supported Ronald Reagan for president in 1976 against Gerald Ford. I consider myself a mainstream conservative Republican, but I'm also a Republican who can look at election results and recognize the realities in this state and what it takes to get elected in this state." Hartman opposes any effort to go after moderate Republicans, or Republicans who cut deals.

The club's Keating is a Reaganite, too.

"If there's anything that Republicans agree on, if there's a common thread, it's Reaganite economic policies, pro-growth policies and fiscal responsibility," Keating continued. "If a Republican doesn't vote that way, I don't see anything wrong" with backing another Republican in a primary when a Repub goes wrong.

Well stated...for the most part. There are some disagreements in the Republican Party as well as there are in the Democratic Party. It is shameful that in order to find some semblance fair analysis. Notwithstanding the fact the it is off topic. Keating does not oppose Republicans who make deals, but republicans who's deals include raising taxes or putting more regulations on corporations which stifle growth.

I know what's wrong with it. The club posts members of the House and Senate whom it deems to be RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) because they voted against the club on a particular bill.

By the club's own definition, Ronald Reagan could be a RINO. As governor, Reagan raised taxes. And you know what: When he did, he was a better lawmaker than the California GOP purists who kept their no tax-hike pledge, but without cutting spending. They were so pure as they borrowed the state into oblivion.

There is nothing wrong with any constituency deciding that there are elected officials who do not support issues that the constituency advocates. Democrats do the same thing. However I get the sneaky suspicion that you may not disagree with the same tactics when Democrats employ them. While Republicans have consensus on Former President Ronald Reagan's pro-growth policies, no one goes back and talks highly of Former California Governor Ronald Reagan's tax hiking policies.

I've known David Keating for years. I respect him tremendously and I agree with him on private savings account. But what the club is doing with this latest campaign shows what is wrong with politics theses days. This campaign may not use critical language, but its underlying message is that lawmakers shouldn't sweat the details, shouldn't deal with the other side, they don't even have to think.

To be a good Republican, in the eyes of the Club for Growth, is to take a stand and cleave to it, even if it means borrowing instead of cutting or, as far as we know, supporting bad Social Security reform.

This conclusion is ripe with inaccuracies. First of all even U.S. Senator Harry Reid agrees with partial privation of Social Security (or at least he did when there was a Democrat in the White House), so that is ceases to be useful measuring bar. It's good that the Club holds Republicans accountable to the same Republican values they promoted in their campaigns. Democrats are even more extreme with their accountability.

To be a good Republican is not as you state. It is however to cleave to the position that one has campaigned on. That does not mean borrowing instead of cutting nor supporting bad Social Security.

The very same principles that propelled Republicans to majority status over the last 12 years across the nation can propel Republicans in California. California Republicans do not lack winning issues. California Republicans lack the stomach and courage legislate that way they campaign thereby making organizations such as the California Club for Growth indespensible in the effort to holding California Legislators accountable.

Mali D. This influence should put the MSM on notice that the world no longer needs their effort in order to be informed.

This should also have the MSM very concerned that their advertising dollars may be severely compromised in the process. As blogs continue to grow in influence, advertisers will assign more of their dollars to them.

There once was a time when I was very upset with the MSM's benign Left-Wing Liberal bias.
